CALL FOR
SUBMISSIONS
The Fifteenth Annual Prairie Tales Media Arts Tour
AMAAS (Alberta Media Arts
Alliance Society) invites filmmakers, videographers, documentarians, and
animators to submit their recently completed works to Prairie Tales, an annual
touring program of short works by Albertan media artists.
In its fifteenth
consecutive year, the Prairie Tales Tour celebrates the diversity of work
created by media artists in our province. In circulation over several months,
Prairie Tales screens throughout Alberta and across Canada at media art
centres, galleries, and schools.
A work is eligible for submission
to Prairie Tales if:
·
it was
completed during the 18-month period prior to the deadline*
·
it has a running
time of 15 minutes or less
·
its creator’s
primary residence is in Alberta
With your submission,
please include a completed submission form, a brief description of your work
(including date of completion and original production format) as well as an artist's
biography. Preview copies may be submitted on DVD only. Works must be submitted in final edited
form. Prairie Tales 15 will be curated by the Prairie Tales Tour
Coordinator and a peer jury.
Artists whose work is included in the program will be paid the CARFAC
rate for multiple film/video screenings. There is no submission fee.
Please note that while the
Prairie Tales staff does its best to briefly test all submissions to make sure
they play, the responsibility for ensuring that a submitted work plays properly
from start to finish on a standard DVD player rests with the
applicant. Submissions with
playback problems during curation cannot be guaranteed consideration by the
jury.
*The deadline for submissions is 5:00pm on January
31, 2013.
